Late yesterday morning, the Texas AG put out a statement saying a deal had been reached on redistricting.  It turns out key players had not agreed to a deal.  Oh, well.  Some minority plaintiffs agreed to the deal and others didn’t.  That’s not good.  They need to all stay on the same page if you ask me.  April 3 looks like it may not happen but we all need to stay tuned!

It is nice to hear fellas like Karl Rove squeal.  Make my day!  He is squealing about the Clint Eastwood “Halftime in America” ad that ran during the Super Bowl.  Here is the squeal:

I was, frankly, offended by it, I’m a huge fan of Clint Eastwood, I thought it was an extremely well-done ad, but it is a sign of what happens when you have Chicago-style politics, and the president of the United States and his political minions are, in essence, using our tax dollars to buy corporate advertising.”

I don’t know how he can be offended by the recovery of our automobile industry.  I don’t know how he can be offended by auto industry jobs coming back.

Speaking of the Giants, who was the last MLBer to win an MVP Award as a member of the New York Giants and in what year?

Here is from a Huffington Post story today on Komen and the mess they created and stepped in:

A source with direct knowledge of decision-making at Komen’s headquarters in Dallas said the grant-making criteria were adopted with the deliberate intention of targeting Planned Parenthood. The criteria’s impact on Planned Parenthood and its status as the focus of government investigations were highlighted in a memo distributed to Komen affiliates in December.

Here is the entire piece.

A whole lot of folks across the U.S. of A. lost a whole lot of respect for Komen – respect that they will never get back.  They asked for it!

Hall of Fame great Willie Mays of course was the last New York Giant to win the NL MVP Award back in 1954.

Speaking of Super Bowl ads, I wonder if Roland Martin will be on the air tonight reporting for CNN on the election returns.  I wonder what kind of underwear Martin buys.

Let’s hope the results from Colorado, Minnesota, and Missouri tonight provide some more GOP drama.

The only thing going on at The Yard is the signing of folks that probably won’t contribute much this season or next.
