Nobody pays attention to Commentary. Nobody.
Here is from Erica Grieder’s Chron column today on the deadly concert debacle over at NRG:
“A lot of narratives right now. A lot of them, on social media,” said Houston Police Chief Troy Finner on Saturday, at a news conference, where he appeared alongside Turner and Hidalgo. One of them, he continued, was that “someone was injecting other people with drugs.”
Finner then appeared to confirm this rumor, or at least give it credence, saying that HPD had received a report of a security officer who felt a prick in his neck, then fell unconscious, and was revived after medical staff administered Narcan, an opioid antagonist. At that point, Finner said, “the medical staff did notice a prick that was similar to a prick that you would get if somebody was trying to inject.”
“That is one part of it,” Finner said. “The other thing that’s very important — there were some individuals that were trampled. And we want to be respectful of that, but we just ask that y’all give us time to do a proper investigation.”
The chief also pushed back against the notion that officials could have cut the event shorter than they did. He subsequently issued a statement confirming that he had met with Scott on the day of the event and raised concerns then about public safety.
“You cannot just close when you got 50,000 and over 50,000 individuals,” Finner said. “We have to worry about rioting, riots, when you have a group that’s that young.”
If the H-Town City Legal Department isn’t drawing up an ordinance right now to limit the size of attendees at these types of events, then they are ok with folks dying at concerts. The H-Town Police Chief just admitted to the Chron that HPD can’t control these types of concerts when 50,000 people show up. The next logical step is to outlaw them.
This is a wow kind of statement in Commentary’s book. Limit these concerts to like 5,000 folks since the City of H-Town is admitting that they can’t control the crowd. Wow.
Even though we have this glaring admission, I don’t think things will change much. Money and profits trump lives.
On my Majority Patriot Texas PAC yesterday, Tim Bacon sent me this:
The teachers’ union has a PAC. Has for years. So, what?
Well, why don’t they just use the union PAC on the disclaimer? We all know why.
I got the COVID-19 Moderna booster yesterday and feel a minor throb in my arm this morning. No big deal
Alyson Footer of MLB.com put out the final MLB power rankings today and she has the Astros at number 6. We just went to Game 6 of the World Series, and we are ranked number 6. Got it?
So, the Regressive Progressive Maoists are now calling on government to limit the right of citizens to assemble, even if it is to pay to be entertained?
One must blame the activist Democrat judges, educrats, and Mayors who have had absolute control over the inner city youth over the past generations.
They have encouraged the youth to disrupt and dismantle our institutions, and last year, leading the rioters who engaged in Burning, Looting, and Mayhem.
The chaos was intentional, according to the Maoist playbook.
Now, the totalitarians will use the tragedy (Rahm Emanuel “You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it’s an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before.”) to regulate every aspect of our lives.
