Stink Stank. Stunk.

Good for LULAC. See this from today’s Chron: 

The country’s oldest Hispanic civil rights organization has decided to drop the use of “Latinx” as a pan-ethnic term to refer to people of Hispanic or Latino heritage, saying it considers the word to be “non-inclusive” and at odds with its centric, non-partisan political positions. 

Domingo Garcia, the national president of the League of United Latin American Citizens, instructed the organization to stop using Latinx in official communications after a survey by the research firm Bendixen and Amandi published last week found only 2 percent of Hispanic or Latino voters chose the word Latinx to describe their ethnic background and 40 percent said the term bothers or offends them.

Commentary always thought that Latinx was silly and dumb.   

The Chron today has a listing on where to get your tamales during this tamale, err, Christmas season. Here are prices per dozen – mostly.  I never heard of getting them by the half dozen or individually.

Killen’s – $25 per dozen. Nope.

Hugo’s – $24 per dozen. Nope.

Monkey’s Tail – $12 per dozen. 

This isn’t from the Chron, but Spanish Flowers in the Heights sells them for $11.95 per dozen. 

My good friend James recommended Tepatilan tamales which go for $25 per dozen. I don’t know about that. 

Commentary has purchased tamales from Alamo and Spanish Flowers and was very satisfied.  They are delicious and hit the spot. I am a pork or beef tamale guy. Chicken maybe. Not into beans, raisins, veggie, fusion, brisket or any other variation. Just the basic tamale, please.
