Dowd Out

Sorry for the delay. Things came up and it has been a hectic morning. 

John Lennon was murdered 41 years ago today. I will always remember. Imagine. 

Matthew Dowd is out of the race for Lieutenant Governor. Here is part of what he put out yesterday: 

To that end, I have decided to step back, not file in the Democratic primary, and end my campaign for Lieutenant Governor of Texas. When I first announced, the only other candidate was a white male, Christian. A diverse field is now emerging in the Democratic primary for this office. I do not want to be the one who stands in the way of the greater diversity we need in politics. 

Maybe the other white dude running will pull out. Do we really want two white dudes at the very top of the ticket? 

Early voting in person in the HISD and HCC runoff races are over. Meanwhile, the Houston Chronicle endorsed candidate for HISD District 1 Trustee is being called a right-wing extremist by her opponent. That is what it is down to. Janette Garza Lindner is hard working, bilingual, smart, sincere, sharp, articulate and driven. Right-wing extremist? I guess some campaigns can just make stuff up. 

Congrats to Daniella and Carlos Correa. They now have a little boy. They named him Kylo. 

I wonder if it has to do with the Kylo Ren fella from Star Wars.
