Yesterday’s insurrection was the work of MAGA folks.  They were incited by Donald Trump and the likes of U.S. Sens. Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley.  There were some that tried to blame Antifa and the like, but we all know that is a bunch of BS.  This was MAGA.

We saw it coming. This will lead to Trump’s stock falling.  Let’s hope.

Commentary can remember the service of elected U.S. Senators from Texas.  Ralph Yarborough, Lloyd Bentsen, Kay Bailey Hutchison, John Tower and Phil Gramm.  Some of these I agreed with more than others on their policies and votes.  These five were cut from a different cloths of sorts from current Sens. John Cornyn and Ted Cruz. The five didn’t have an allegiance to an individual. Cornyn and Cruz do.

Both have been in lockstep with Donald Trump and history will judge them harshly. Both will have put their personal selfish agenda and the agenda of Trump ahead of the concerns of working Texans.

Cruz has sealed his fate as a Lone Star national embarrassment and an inciter of yesterday’s riot at the U.S. Capitol.  His attempts to curry favor with Trump supporters backfired in his face yesterday and he will forever be known as a failure and an embarrassment.  It couldn’t happen to a more worthless fella.

Cruz tried to play cute with overturning a presidential election and the result was an assault on our temple of democracy, and one of the darkest days in our nation’s history.  Thanks, Ted.

Here is what the Chron E-Board is saying today:

The mob that invaded the U.S. Capitol Wednesday weren’t patriots — and neither were the leaders who incited them, including President Trump and Sen. Ted Cruz.

I wholeheartedly agree.  Cruz is nowhere near being a patriot. Aiding and abetting yesterday’s riot certainly won’t help his political future.   He has the support of a mob, thugs and anarchists. His arse is now on full display.

It is all well documented.  Trump called Cruz’s wife ugly, nicknamed Cruz “Lying Ted”, and accused his father of being in on the JFK assassination plot, and Cruz responded by lavishing praise on Trump. Cruz got what he deserved yesterday. A Lone Star State national embarrassment for sure.

Many are now calling for Cruz’s resignation.  He won’t.

The thing is after yesterday, Trump is toxic.  Cruz will now left be wandering in a political wilderness of sorts.

There is plenty of blame to go around for yesterday’s insurrection.

Trump, Cruz, Hawley, Don, Jr., Kevin McCarthy, Fox News, Kelleyanne, Ivanka, Jared, Gohmert, the Press Secretary, Ken Paxton, Rudy Giuliani and on and on and on.

They fueled this and it exploded yesterday.  The first time a mob has ever assaulted our U.S. Capitol.  Think about that.

For many that will continue to don MAGA gear and wave the Trump flag, you will forever be thought of as the folks who desecrated our U.S. Capitol.  You certainly earned it.

After Congress made President-Elect Joe Biden and Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris official early this morning, Trump put out this POS statement:

“Even though I totally disagree with the outcome of the election, and the facts bear me out, nevertheless there will be an orderly transition on January 20th.  While this represents the end of the greatest first term in presidential history, it’s only the beginning of our fight to Make America Great Again.”

Nope.  Yesterday is your legacy.  Inciter-In-Chief and it was on full display for the whole world to see.

Remember this past summer when protestors spray painted and defaced the Texas State Capitol and the DPS painstakingly went through video tape and social media to ID the law breakers.  Gov. Greg Abbott would be a true patriot if he offered DPS’ crack team to the U.S. Capitol to help ID yesterday’s lawbreakers.  That’s funny!  We all know Abbott won’t because he doesn’t want to piss off the MAGA folks.

Yesterday’s riots prevented us from fully celebrating the sweep in Georgia.
