Fingers Crossed

Commentary will be getting the COVID-19 vaccine later on this month.  It has been scheduled.

Let’s hope America wins this evening with a Democratic sweep in Georgia.  We can’t afford gridlock for the next couple of years.  I am keeping my fingers crossed.

The Chron E-Board has a take today on Sen. Ted Cruz and his activity.  Here are a couple of lines from the take that sums it up:

We don’t expect Cruz to take our advice. It’s clear he’s chosen a path that his political calculations have told him will enhance his profile with the Republican base when time comes to run for president again.

WASHINGTON — Texas Republicans have taken center stage in President Donald Trump’s efforts to overturn the election he lost and now they plan to stand in the way of certifying the results this week, even as top members of the party acknowledge Trump’s defeat and encourage them to do the same.

U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz is leading an effort to throw out the results in the Senate, while several Texans in the House have said they won’t vote to accept the results. And Attorney General Ken Paxton is heading to D.C. for a Trump rally outside the White House on Wednesday, calling on all “patriots” to join him.
