Labor Day Weekend

We lost Hall of Fame great Tom Seaver a couple of days ago.  Tom Terrific was a class act.  On of the best pitchers of all time.

Commentary has always said that “The Godfather” and “The Godfather: Part II” are the best two movies of all time.  “The Godfather: Part III” is getting a new ending and beginning.  From director Francis Ford Coppola: “For this version of the finale, I created a new beginning and ending, and rearranged some scenes, shots, and music cues. With these changes and the restored footage and sound, to me, it is a more appropriate conclusion to ‘The Godfather’ and ‘The Godfather: Part II’ and I’m thankful to Jim Gianopulos and Paramount for allowing me to revisit it.”

It would have helped if Robert Duvall had been signed for III, but nooooo.

I guess I will have to check it out.  Just don’t mess with the first two.

The new James Bond movie is “No Time to Die.”

Name the other three Bond flicks with “die” in the title?

Commentary doesn’t get all into the articles about Donald Trump denigrating the troops, vets, or POWs.  His base doesn’t give a rat’s arse.  His loyal GOP elected defenders have to live with this.  Those that tell this to the media are arseholes for working for him in the first place.  Let’s end this on November 3.

What a moron.  Commentary is talking about Gov. Greg Abbott saying he would support legislation to have the state take over the Austin Police Department.  He is an embarrassment. COVID-19 has exposed him as a two-bit phony.  What a joke.

Pro-choice folks who didn’t want pro-choice Planned Parenthood to endorse pro-choice GOP State Rep. Sarah Davis because pro-choice GOP State Rep. Sarah Davis is not a pro-choice Democrat didn’t get their way as pro-choice Planned Parenthood endorsed pro-choice GOP State Rep. Sarah Davis.

“Live and Let Die”, “Tomorrow Never Dies”, and “Die Another Day” are the three other James Bond flicks with “die” in the title of course.

We start an 11-game roadie in California this evening.  For 2 of the games we will be the home team and bat last because they were games that were originally scheduled for The Yard but were postponed because of Hurricane Laura and a COVID-19 positive test.

We will play 4 in Anaheim this weekend with a doubleheader tomorrow.  We are the home team in tomorrow’s nightcap.

We then play 5 in Oakland starting on Labor Day.  We will play a doubleheader on Tuesday and are the home team in the opener.

We have next Friday off and then play 2 at Dodger Stadium.  Next Saturday’s game is a night game that will be on Fox.  The following Sunday we will be on ESPN Sunday Night Baseball.

Got it?

Tonight’s game starts at 8 pm.

Can we enjoy the Labor Day weekend without being super spreaders?  We can spend a couple of evenings watching the Rockets.  Take it easy, play it safe, and don’t do anything stupid, please.
