My ex-father-in-law left us a few days ago.  Larry Foster was Sabrina Midkiff’s Dad.  He was a real nice man. He always treated me kindly.  I feel for Sabrina this morning.  She lost her Mom earlier this year and now her Dad a few days ago.

8,076 Texas COVID-19 infections reported on Wednesday.

7,915, yesterday.

Gov. Greg Abbott doesn’t want anymore blood on his hands, so he has decided to impose a statewide face mask order.  He thought that early on his fellow Texans would act responsibly.  He gave folks a chance to do the right thing.  I guess he underestimated the number of Texas pandejos out there.

I wonder what Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, Cong. Dan Crenshaw and State Rep. Briscoe Cain are thinking? They all went after Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo when she came out with her face mask order a couple of months ago.

From a New York Times story today:

As many as 80 percent of the holiday fireworks displays in large cities and small towns have been canceled because of the pandemic.

Why is H-Town in the 20%?

Commentary doesn’t think the City of H-Town should have the fireworks show tomorrow night.  You know folks are going to violate social distancing guidelines to watch.  In my opinion, the City loses cred in the fight against COVID-19 by displaying the fireworks.  Sigh.

Same thing for the GOP State Convention.  The GOP voted last night to hold their convention in H-Town in a couple of weeks.  Donald Trump and Gov. Greg Abbott have time and time again thwarted our local efforts to fight COVID-19.  The City of H-Town has the power to stop 6,000 folks from gathering indoors in a City owned facility.  Use our GD power.  Double sigh.

Siete Family Foods sent me a Siete Nomadix towel yesterday.  Guess what?  I didn’t know what Nomadix was.  They make their product out of recycled water bottles.  30 recycled water bottles are used to make one towel.  It is recommended for use at the beach, by the pool, camping, boating, and yoga. Cool.

Do you have one?

Alex Bregman hired Scott Boras as his agent.

Have a safe Fourth of July Weekend.
