The Failing GOP

Don’t you just wish when you got up this morning, that it was all a huge April Fools Day prank that was pulled on us.  Instead, we are living in our own sci-fi flick.

17 states still do not have stay-at-home status.  100,000 to 250,000 more expected to die, at a minimum.

Certain red states are getting the medical supplies they need.  F_ck the blue states.

Sen. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says blame it on the impeachment thing.  Really? That’s funny.

Pretty conclusive evidence based on the data we can see.  GOP leaders are failing during this pandemic.  The GOP knows this too.  Their responses are lame at best.  It is tough for the GOP to shift blame to President Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi when they control the daily briefings.  It is tough when you are trying to explain mounting bodies being piled into refrigerated trucks.

Commentary fully expected Gov. Greg Abbott to kowtow to the likes of wacko Hotze.  What kind of thinking is this?  We are trying to get through this pandemic and saying church gatherings is essential is madness.  That is another avenue for community spread.  What part about that does Abbott not get?  That’s worshiping at my expense.  Where is the public health logic on this? Truly irresponsible!

The Chron has a story today on the services issue and lucky for us, the religious leaders interviewed said they would not be holding Sunday in person services.

Texas is finally a stay-at-home state.  That’s what the Governor put out yesterday, but he doesn’t want to call it that.  Whatever.  Call it don’t-go-out-unless-you-are essential or need an essential service. Got it?

A lot of the networks are showing replays of sports games during the times they would be airing live events.  On the MLB Radio Network that you can get with certain SiriusXM packages, this Saturday evening at 10 pm, they will air Game 7 of the 1960 World Series between the Pirates and Yankees from Forbes Field.  The best World Series Game 7 ever.  The Pirates jumped off to a 4-zip lead.  The Yankees then took a 7-4 lead.  Then the Pirates jumped in front 9-7 heading into the 9th.  The Yankees scored 2 in the top of the 9th to tie it at 9.  Bill Mazeroski led off the bottom of the 9th by smacking a Ralph Terry 1-0 pitch over the left field wall to win the Series.

A diversion from the madness we are experiencing.
