MLB returns to The Yard three weeks from this evening as we host Cleveland for a couple of exhibition games. How did we do against Cleveland last season?

You would be surprised how many Texans don’t know what Texas Independence Day is or that it is today.  You would be surprised how many H-Town area folks don’t know why we have the San Jacinto Monument or Battleground.

I am not surprised.

Tomorrow is the big day. I am looking forward to 7 pm tomorrow evening. I know a number of folks who didn’t vote early because they wanted to see what happened in South Carolina.

Commentary will say it again. I will work hard for our nominee for president. I will say this. Rules are rules and everyone know the rules when they get into the race for president.

Everyone also knows that Commentary is not a fan of Super Delegates, but rules are rules. It was decided that Super Delegates get to vote on the second and subsequent ballots. If you don’t like that, win on the first ballot.

Shut up and quit being crybabies.

Commentary wrote this last week to Astros owner Jim Crane:

I’ve been a season ticket holder since 1994. I am a pretty good fan, spend a lot of dough at The Yard, and H-Town proud. I am not all bent out of shape over this cheating stuff. You don’t need to apologize to me, so there is no need for me to forgive. I would, however, appreciate you comping me a few Saint Arnold Ambers or Art Cars and hot dogs off and on throughout this season as a kind of goodwill gesture if you know what I mean.

I got this from my Astros Account Representative on Friday:

I want to personally show my thanks for your continual patience and support by providing you with a $200 loyalty gift that will be loaded on your MLB Ballpark app by the first exhibition game. This loyalty gift can be redeemed for a variety of Astros items through September 20, 2020 at 11:59pm.

Better than nothing. Tell Jim, thanks.

For those wondering, depending on the price this season, that’s around 13 or 14 Saint Arnolds including tip, or 200 dogs from Dollar Dog Nights.

I haven’t purchased a lid in a while. I might mosey over to The Yard and snag one of those Spring Training lids with the rainbow star or maybe an orange lid.

We went 4-3 against Cleveland last season of course.

I sure hope I am not campaigning on Opening Day.
