Talk about a bad photoshop. Some group sent out a negative mail piece on State Representative Anna Eastman yesterday. The sad thing about the mailer is that Anna’s photo was photoshopped. They have Anna in wardrobe that she’s incapable of wearing. Wow! These arseholes obviously don’t know Anna’s story. Insensitive dumbarses.
Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg’s campaign is running TV ads. I saw one last night.
The Chron E-Board today endorsed incumbent State Reps. Harold Dutton and Jarvis Johnson. They also endorsed Akilah Bacy for HD 138 and Natali Hurtado for HD 126, both in the Democratic Party Primary. Christian Menefee received the E-Board endorsement over incumbent Harris County Attorney Vince Ryan.
On the Texas Democratic Party Primary Election ballot there are 17 names listed for president. Some are no longer running like former Massachusetts governor Deval Patrick, former Congressman John Delaney, author Marianne Williamson, entrepreneur Andrew Yang, U.S. Senator Cory Booker, and former HUD Secretary Julian Castro. I mention this because come next Tuesday, Early Vote in Person begins and most folks that I hang with really haven’t settled on a choice.
If you are a Sen. Bernie Sanders, Mayor Pete Buttigieg or Mike Bloomberg supporter, you will feel comfortable voting on Tuesday knowing that your candidate’s campaign will be alive and well on Super Tuesday on March 3. I am probably thinking Sen. Amy Klobuchar makes it to Super Tuesday. What happens if former Vice President Joe Biden’s firewall crumbles in South Carolina on Saturday, February 29 before March 3? Can Sen. Elizabeth Warren make it?
Does the Nevada Caucus on February 22 narrow the field?
Loyal supporters of Biden and Warren who are closely watching the race, do they show up on Tuesday or wait to see how things turn out. Maybe waiting until Tuesday, March 3.
I have not made up my mind. I think it is down to four: Bernie, Mayor Pete, Sen. Klobuchar and Mike Bloomberg.
I will wait.
A few thousand Democratic Party Primary mail ballots have been cast in Harris County, so far.
The Democratic Party has rules to run for president. We can let a U.S. Senator who is an independent come in and run for president. No problem with that. We can also let a former GOPer who was once a big city mayor come in and spend a kazillion of his own money run for president. No problem with that. We have rules and those are the rules.
When it is all said and done, the voters have the final say.
On the retired General John Kelly, Donald Trump’s former Chief-of-Staff, f__k him. He knew exactly what he was getting into. F__k him!
Jim Crane, the Astros owner, and Dusty Baker, the Skipper, had a press conference yesterday, and the national media attended. Then the players made themselves available in the clubhouse and owned it. It was not pretty. At least they are not running from it. It is going to be a long season and we are not giving up our rings.
A lot of MLB folks have been trying for a century or so to cheat and steal signs. The Astros finally figured out something and got ratted out and are now paying the price.
Have a nice St. Valentine’s Day!
No MLB question today.
