Now to Impeachment

U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was on live national TV this morning making the case for impeachment. She was definitely on her game.

We don’t have a choice. The House has to impeach. To not impeach would be to say abuse of power is Ok. As they say, it is cut and dried.

The Chron’s Jasper Scherer has a piece today on self-funded local candidates and here is the headline:

If he goes back to 2003, he can write about how Bill White partially self-funded his successful race for H-Town Mayor.

Commentary is not going to fret about the delay in the H-Town City Council District B runoff. Incumbent and term limited Council Member Jerry Davis will serve until the new council member is elected and sworn in, so the District B voters will have representation. Commentary is not going to get into who is right and who is wrong on moving forward with the election. The felon can’t run stuff is ambiguous and that’s why we have a judicial system to sort things out.

In a Chron story today on the District B delay, Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis opined as to why the County Attorney’s Office did not move to quash the effort to delay. What about the City of H-Town Legal Department? Oh, well.

Did you know that there are four former Astros who were born on Christmas Day? Hall of Fame great Nellie Fox who played for us in 1964 and 1965, infielder Julio Gonzalez who played for us from 1977-1980, outfielder Ty Gainey who played for us from 1985-1987, and center fielder Willie Taveras wo played for us from 2004-2006.
