Candidate Filings

So far, we are not seeing it locally. Commentary is talking about a last-minute move or shift or dropout in the local candidate filing department. No surprises with seven days left to file. Stay tuned!

There are now two candidates in the #TXHD148DemocraticPartyPrimary. Anna Eastman and Penny Shaw. Ok. This election will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 with Early Voting in Person beginning on February 18, 2020.

Anna Eastman will be running in the #TXHD148SpecialRunoffElection which will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 with Early Voting in Person beginning on January 21, 2020. Got it?

That is quite a number of vote casting by HD 148 voters.

I went with my Dad to his urologist yesterday. Instead of hassling with Medical Center Parking, we parked at the Quitman Metro Rail Station and hopped on the Red Line. It dropped us off right in front of the UT Physicians Building on Fannin where his appointment was. He checked out Ok after 6 months of meds. They set him up for his next annual appointment in November of 2020. I kind of chuckled that my 96-year old Dad has an appointment a year from now.

I confess. Since Thanksgiving Night, I have watched in their entirety in the late evening, three of those made for TV Christmas flicks on cable. You know, the ones with mostly all white cast that are cheesy and have happy endings.

Some folks consider “Die Hard” a Christmas flick because the setting is around Christmas time and the Nakatomi Corporation is hosting their annual Christmas party. What Christmas tune is played at the end of the movie while the credits roll? “Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let it Snow!” of course is played at the end.
