Reminded Again

Dodger pitching great Clayton Kershaw passed Hall of Fame great Sandy Koufax for third most strikeouts recorded as a Dodger with 2,397. Name the top 2 Dodgers with the most strikeouts wearing the Dodger blue?

My how time flies. Commentary almost forgot about the Prop B mess, the H-Town Firefighters and the H-Town Mayor. I was reminded of it yesterday when they went at each other again. They couldn’t get their act together at a mediation session yesterday. Commentary has said it a kazillion times. The Mayor doesn’t become Mayor without the Firefighters endorsement in 2015. What a mess if you ask Commentary.

H-Town voters approved Prop B last November with 60% of the vote. It is a durn shame that this is still being argued about. The will of the voters has been totally ignored. It is a durn shame. Don’t argue with me.

BTW: There has to be a perfectly good reason to have three H-Town Solid Waste blue side-loaders in front of my crib at the same time yesterday. When they converged on my street from three different directions, two of the drivers got out and compared routes or notes or something like that. Why does this happen? What another mess. Sigh.

I caught on SiriusXM CNN last night Chris Cuomo and Don Lemon were kind of going after those 2020 Democratic presidential candidates who brought up during the Wednesday night debates the deportations during the President Obama administration and hung it around former VP Joe Biden’s neck. It was kind of a Thou Shalt Not Question Barack Obama discussion by Cuomo and Lemon. Commentary likes Cuomo and Lemon, but they are wrong.

The candidates were Sen. Cory Booker, former HUD Secretary Julian Castro, and New York Mayor Bill de Blasio.

Let me give folks a refresher course. We were supposed to do comprehensive immigration reform in the first year of the Obama Presidency. We were supposed to provide a pathway to citizenship for the 11 million that were here and take care of the DREAMers. We had during the first two years of the Obama Presidency, Democratic Party control of the Congress and White House. We did bailouts, the stimulus package and the Affordable Health Care Act. White House folks like then Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel pushed immigration reform to the side. Then we lost Congress and deportations continued and continued.

Immigration reform was let down the tubes big time by our Democratic Party leaders.

Then the immigration reform community decided to give President Obama the Deporter-In-Chief label. I will say this about the immigration reform community. They have stayed engaged and their efforts have benefitted Democratic Party candidates in recent elections. They are part of our coalition that we need to win in 2020. In Commentary’s book, they have earned the right to hold Biden’s feet to the fire on this issue and Booker, Castro and de Blasio are looking out for this key community and Commentary is glad they are.

We should have handled this issue in 2009. Trump is assaulting this community on a daily basis.

Don’t even try to argue with me.

President Obama will be Ok.

Here is what is going on with the rash of announcements of GOPers in Congress and the #Txlege throwing in the towel. It is going to be harder for them to win reelection or/and they can no longer go to sleep being an elected official in a GOP that is led by a racist and liar. Pretty simple to Commentary. There is only so much you can take. They are human beings after all.

Hall of Fame great Don Sutton of course struck out 2,696 batters wearing the Dodger blue followed by Hall of Fame great Don Drysdale with 2,486.

FYI: Sutton also pitched for the Angels, Astros, A’s, and Brewers and ended up with 3,574 career strikeouts.

70-40 and home for five against the Mariners and Rockies with Zack Greinke pitching Tuesday. Everyone who shows up to watch Greinke pitch Tuesday gets a Greinke T-shirt, plus, it is Dollar Dog Night!
