Our Mess?

Commentary mentioned yesterday that the late Mel Stottlemyre tossed 40 career complete game shutouts. How many complete game shutouts were tossed by MLB pitchers last season?

Here is what happened on Day 2 of Early Voting in Person in the #TXHD145SpecialElection.

17 Ripley

16 Scarsdale

7 Downtown

4 Moody

87 Total

Christina Morales raised more money than the other candidates combined for the end of year reports.

It really should not be our mess. Commentary is talking about the Houston Firefighters and H-Town City Hall. There is another story in the Chron today on the Firefighters going to a court on Prop B and the meeting with the Mayor. Here is from the Chron:

“This is just more smoke and mirrors from a vindictive, dishonest mayor who has fought us and the voters for two years,” (Firefighters Union President Marty) Lancton said. “He leaves the impression that he is willing to work with us, but he refuses to actually resolve anything. He’s always a victim of everybody else.”

Here is the entire read: https://www.houstonchronicle.com/news/houston-texas/houston/article/Firefighters-ask-judge-to-force-city-to-implement-13536890.php?src=hp_totn.

Pretty harsh words.

Every now and then someone will ask Commentary about this mess. Here is how I respond. Firefighters supported the Mayor big time in 2015 when he ran. He doesn’t win without the help of Firefighters. Whatever deal they had obviously fell apart. Firefighters start a petition drive. Any poll will tell you that Firefighters rate way higher than elected officials. Cut a deal. Nope. H-Town voters give Firefighters a win. Voters say take care of Firefighters. That is where we are at folks.

This mess has even spilled over into the MLK Day parades.

Last season, MLB pitchers tossed 19 complete game shutouts of course.

Nothing from The Yard today.
