With 99 games remaining, how many different starting pitchers have the ‘Stros used this season?

Those of us who have gone through numerous hurricanes over the years in these parts certainly know the pre-hurricane drill. Some of us head out of town. Some of us head to the grocery store and stock up on the essentials. Some of us sit in front of the flat screen watching the local news coverage knowing full well that the screen will soon go blank when we lose power. A few idiotic surfers head out to the beach to take advantage of the big waves. Nobody, I repeat nobody, hops into their boat and heads out to open water to watch the hurricane arrive. Nobody!

Here is the headline from Chron.com today:

Trump: Many Texans watched Harvey from their boats, requiring Coast Guard rescue

Here is from the Chron:

“Sixteen thousand people, many of them in Texas, for whatever reason that is. People went out in their boats to watch the hurricane,” (Donald) Trump said. “That didn’t work out too well.”

And this:

“I didn’t see anyone taking the approach that would reflect his comments,” (Harris County Sheriff Ed) Gonzalez said. “I’ll be sure to invite the president to ride out the next hurricane in a jon boat in Galveston Bay the next time one approaches,” he added.

No one could explain the president’s comment.

When asked by the Houston Chronicle to confirm if Texans were out on boats gawking at the storm, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said he had “no information one way or another about that.”

Coast Guard Petty Officer Edward Wargo said: “I don’t know how we would go about confirming that,” when asked for evidence.

“I don’t even know how to respond to that,” said Marty Lancton, president of the Houston Professional Fire Fighters Association.

This is the lead front page story in today’s Chron folks!

When it comes to preparing for hurricanes, we are all pretty much on the same page. Well, with maybe the exception when Gov. Abbott warned us to evacuate when Harvey was headed this way.

Commentary gave up a while back on local and state GOP elected officials calling out Trump when he says outrageous dumbarse stuff. But heck, can’t they even muster up some courage to say he is wrong or mistaken on this? “No information one way or another about that” is such a BS response from Gov. Abbott.

It won’t surprise me if 25% of the country believe what Trump said since it is not being challenged by GOP state and local elected officials who know better.

That’s why nobody should dare challenge Commentary when I say don’t vote for any local GOPer this November. I guess they don’t want to risk upsetting Trump’s base. They would rather allow this BS statement to go unchecked. Nope! They don’t deserve your vote.  They would rather let Trump get away with creating this phantom hurricane boater image.  BS!

The ‘Stros have only used five different starting pitchers this season of course.  Last season we used eleven.

Here is where we need to make our move. We have the 4th best record in MLB and 5 ½ games behind the Red Sox, the team with the best record. We have 36 games before we reach the All Star break. 16 are roadies. 20 are at The Yard. 29 are against MLB clubs with records below .500. The other 7 are with an MLB club playing just 1 game about .500. We have to make our move as we start a 4 game series in Arlington this evening.
