Commentary watched on the flat screen yesterday the entire Donald Trump rant on the media live on CNN. He called ABC reporter Tom Llamas a “sleaze” and CNN’s Jim Acosta a “real beauty” in a derogatory tone. Both Llamas and Acosta are Latino and both Cuban-American. Trump has already gone after Univision’s Jorge Ramos. Remember “go back to Univision?” Trump definitely has a thing about Latinos and Latinos get it. He does not like us. ¡Dale gas! Donald! Keep pi__ing off nuestra gente.

Who leads the ’Stros in RBIs?
I have been voting in presidential elections since Nixon versus McGovern. I think I can say I could probably have hung out with all the candidates. I could have watched a baseball game with Richard Nixon or W. I could have had lunch with Ronald Reagan and talk movies. I could have had dinner with Bob Dole and have him tell me stories about his days in the Senate. I could have watched a football game with Gerald Ford. I would not want to hang with Donald Trump. He is not a good guy and I am being kind in my selection of words to describe him.
I just saw this:

Mayor @SylvesterTurner appears annoyed with @HoustonChron for story about @HoustonPolice Chief search. #houcouncil
This is from today’s Chron:
“I am not going to conduct this (search) process in the media,” Turner said via email Friday. “I didn’t do that with the searches for a new city attorney, the Flood Czar, the Education Director and other positions within my administration. My goal is to find the best candidate for the job and you don’t get the best candidate when the search is conducted in the media, especially if the publicity could endanger an applicant’s current position. It will be done on my time line. In the meantime, HPD is operating quite well under the very capable leadership of Acting Police Chief Martha Montalvo.”

Story appears to have struck a surprising nerve.
What is that all about? Interesting.
Some want transparency. Some don’t. Transparency always wins though.
I fully expect a Chron E-Board take on this in the very near future.
Speaking of, Bill King put out a take on the H-Town City budget. Hey, Bill knows more about the city budget than anyone I know.
“Roots” is a TV classic that came out in 1977. It does not need to be remade.
How about those ‘Stros!
