GOP gubernatorial candidate Debra Medina is polling a little above 10% and some folks are thinking she might throw Guv Dude and Hutch into an April run-off.  She participated in the first statewide TV debate a couple of weeks ago and will participate in Friday night’s TV debate.  You know she’s being taken serious because she got a mention in today’s Austin American Statesman’s online edition on purchasing some clothes with campaign funds.    Hey, if former Governor Palin can do it, so can Debra.

What isn’t being talked about is the number of Latino voters that could vote in the GOP primary.   In some parts of the state where there isn’t a whole lot going on in the Latino community in the Democratic Party primary, like here in H-Town, will Latino voters drift into the GOP primary?  If Latino voters are not engaged by the Democratic Party candidates – who knows? Channel 11 did a story last night on the Eighteenth Congressional District of Texas race.   Check it out.

I don’t make this stuff up.  I don’t think The President will mention it tonight in his State of the Union address.

The 1960 Yankees of course with a .338 batting average on the back of winning games by 16-3, 10-0, and 12-0, even though they lost the World Serious to the Pirates – yikes!

The ‘Stros batted .203 in the 2005 World Serious as the first Spring Training game is March 4 against the Nationals.
