The local GOP’s Local Government Committee sent out their questionnaire for H-Town candidates yesterday. One of the questions is about using tax funds to pay for stadiums like Reliant. I wonder if they have the guts to go up to the Texans owner and ask him this question. After all, he has given hundreds of thousands of dollars to the GOP and always has 41 sitting with him.

There are also questions on paperless folks and affirmative action. I wonder if any of the Dem mayoral candidates will fill out the questionnaire. FYI: The GOPs Local Government Committee needs to learn how to spell “Controller” not “Comptroller.”

Chron.com has a brief piece on the email that was sent out over the weekend about the comptroller’s, err controller’s race.  Check it out.   I read the email – it was stupid.

Any day now Commentary expects to get a call from the new HISD superintendent who will probably want me to give him my take on the local political scenery.

Commentary was supposed to be a panelist at a mayoral debate this Friday but was told it has been cancelled. I guess I don’t blame them for not wanting to face me.

Please be on the lookout for the dreaded “curb tax.” I just read where burgs that are hurting for money like H-Town are telling their parking citation troops to step it up. I don’t know about that. Speaking of, since the H-Town Mayor is spending about 40% of his time going out of town to campaign, why don’t he just do away with 40% of his staff and save some money.

Cougar Nation woke up Saturday afternoon after a long nap and it looks like they are on their way to Tier One status.

From ‘Stros fans to Texans fans – we feel your pain!

Capitol Insider and The Clintster sat with Commentary and Dante in Pam-In-Charge’s seats yesterday.

It is official. We’re not going to reach Cecil No Se Puede’s goal of 90 wins this season – drats! Is it over? Heck no because we still have six at home that will include Latin Night, the final Cap Collections, and the Pudge Bobbleheads!
