On the eve of the Houston Area Latino Summit Mayoral Debate the Chron’s E-Board weighed in the City of H-Town getting into the immigration enforcement business. Check it out.

This ought to be an interesting topic that is brought up tomorrow, Saturday, July 18, 2009, from 10:45 am to 1:30 pm at the Champions Pavilion at Minute Maid Park.

The ground rules are set. The questions are being tweaked even though some folks are finally getting off their arses and submitting some. Folks are getting in their late RSVPs. Thanks to sponsor participation like CDM, former State Rep. Roman Martinez and Taxis Fiesta, Cobb Fendley, CM James Rodriguez, CM Michael Sullivan, Rick Lord and UA Plumbers Local Union 68, Greg Compean and Compean Funeral Home, Fast Tow Wrecker Service, Nef Partida and Partida and Associates, and of course Campos Communications, we will have some tasty light grub, soft drinks, and coffee.

Speaking of, the Chron’s Columnist weighed in on the H-Town Mayoral campaign fundraising reports today. Check it out. He pretty much says what most of us are saying that nobody is laying down any bets right now. SHOW ME THE TV!

Speaking of bets, because of the growing Latino population the Lone Star State, both Hutch and the Junior Senator are kind of in a bind on the vote to confirm Judge Sotomayor. It would not surprise Commentary if both voted for confirmation. If Guv Dude decided to bang on Hutch for supporting Judge Sotomayor, he would further alienate Latino voters as we head into 2010. The other day, the H-Town Hispanic Chamber of Commerce got a mention at the confirmation hearing when the Chair announce that they were supporting Judge Sotomayor – cool. Stay tuned!

Commentary stayed up until 12:15 am this morning to watch the ‘Stros climb above .500 for the first time this season as we shutout the Dodgers. One of Bond Girls, err Jane Seymour, who still don’t need touching up, was sitting behind home plate for most of the game. Three more in LA!
